This confidentially and privacy policy applies to the Plast-X website (the “Website”) operated by Avenord inc. (“us” or “Plast-X“) and available at www.plast-x.com. The policy describes how Plast-X collects, processes, uses and shares personal information and personal data about users of the Plast-X’s Website.

Information That Comes From You

We collect the information you provide to us through the Website or otherwise. This information may include:

  • Your first and last name, title, the name of the company you represent, the address of the company you represent, phone number (personal or work);

Data From Analysis Tools

Whenever you visit our Website, we collect information provided by analytics tools such as Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google“). Google Analytics uses cookies to analyze your use of the Website, to create reports about visitor activities for us and to provide further services associated with the use of the Website. Although this information is collected through your Google ad settings, it is not provided to us in a personally-identifiable format. You may opt out of Google’s interest-based advertising at all time.

Data From Social Networks

We collect information from sites or social networking applications (Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, Google+, etc.) when you interact with profiles belonging to us. These sites or applications are also governed by their own policies regarding your personal data which may be different from ours and may be applicable.

Financial Information

We collect financial and credit card information for payment directly by check or credit card or via purchase order. However, the information collected during the exercise of these payment terms is destroyed immediately after we have received confirmation of payment. Payments that can be made through the Website are processed directly by our service provider, ELAVON, which has exclusive access to the credit card information. ELAVON is also governed by its own policies relating to your personal data which are different from ours and are applicable.

How We Use your Data

We process personal data collected through the Website for the purposes described below. Some processing is subject to your specific consent, while other processing is necessary to provide you with products and services or is based on the pursuit of legitimate interests.

Right to Access & Right to Rectification

You have the right to request (i) the access to some personal data that you have personally provided to us or (ii) the rectification of your personal data if it is incorrect or incomplete. You may make a request in writing to the following address:

We will respond to your request promptly (within 30 days of receipt), allowing you to access your personal date that is under our control.

Withdrawal of Consent

You may withdraw your consent to the collection and processing of some personal data, for example, by withdrawing your consent to receive our commercial emails.

The Website allows you to withdraw your consent to certain processing of your personal data, including by opting in or out of promotional offers based on your activities on the Website.

If you wish to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data beyond what the Website or your mobile device allows, please notify us in writing at ventes@avenord.com. It is not possible to stop all processing of your personal data and continue using the Website. The only way to stop all processing of your personal data is to stop using the Website.

Right to Complain to a Supervisory Authority

If you reside in the European Union, you have the right to lodge a complaint about the processing of your personal data with a supervisory authority responsible for the protection of privacy. The competent authority may vary depending on your country of residence.

This policy shall be governed by the laws applicable in Canada and the Canadian authorities shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any complaint or proceedings based on this policy or the processing of your personal data by Plast-X. Provincial authorities may also have jurisdiction if the laws of your place of residence provide so.

We reserve the right to verify the identity of individuals requesting access to personal data. Any information collected to perform this verification will not be used for any other purpose.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our personal data management practices. If this policy is modified, the new policy will be available through the Website.

Applicable legislation

This policy and all rights and obligations herein are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the laws of Canada.

Any claim regarding the Website or this privacy policy must be brought before a competent court of the province of Quebec sitting in the judicial district of Saint-Hyacinthe, excluding any other jurisdiction.
